Spanish term or phrase: se le ordenó comparecer sin resultado positivo
(meaning the guy did not turn up in Court)
fede
English translation:he did not appear in court as ordered
Explanation:
Other options:
he failed to appear in court as ordered
in violation of orders received, he did not appear in court OR he failed to appear in court
he was ordered to appear in court, to no effect

Be careful - a comma after "court" in the first two options could change the meaning completely! ;-)

Good luck!

He was ordered to appear before the Court, but he did not do so" (or: "..failed to do so")

Explanation:
Or: "He was ordered to appear before the Court, but [he] ignored this order."
Or even: "He was ordered to appear before the Court, but this order was ignored."

Your English translation will depend on where you want to place the emphasis -- on what happened to the order, or on the action of the person to whom the order was issued.

Note: The phrase "...appear before the Court" is the standard formal way to say "...appear in court" in English legal language, as it would be used in such an order.

Hope this provides some clarification! -- HC
