Jorge Alvarez has been identified by fingerprinting,

Explanation:
...after a comparison was made showing that this person has no record.

"Criminal" record I assume; however it does not say "criminal" so we don't either.

XXX has been identified by his fingerprints and after a dactyloscopic comparison, it has been ...

Explanation:
Hola Marpatty:
Existen archivos dactiloscópicos o "dactyloscopic files" utilizados para verificar la identidad de las personas por sus huellas digitales => fingerprints.
Creo que la idea de la trad. es: The defendant, Mr. XXX, has been identified by his fingerprints and after a dactyloscopic comparison, it has been proved that the above-mentioned person has no police record.
This will be OK if the context is formal, for court procedures.
Suerte!

agree  markaqui: This makes the most sense, but how do you get "after" from "previa"? (you can tell I'm a student!)

-> Good question! In my head I imagine the process and I see: step 1, a comparison of fingerprints (previa confronta) and step 2, the result of that comparison, so after is not the translation of the word previa but the result. Does it make sense?

neutral  BelkisDV: Ojo, debe ser "It has been proven, not proved"
