Anyone have a source for equivalents between PR legal terminology and English?
I've got about 40 pp. of various documents of a criminal case, e.g., "mocion sobre alegacion pre acordada" sounds like a "plea bargain" to me.
Since the legal system is a kind of hybrid, traditional Hispanic law overlaid with U.S. Federal system, there must be glossaries proper to Puerto Rico (in addition to the usual legal dictionaries one would consult). Suggestions?

Berryman:

At www.lexjuries.com you will find all of the laws pertaining PR. Although they are in spanish, they might be of some help. Most of the laws in PR are the same as the ones in the U.S. since we are a US Territory known as The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Most of the terminology you will find in regular legal dictionaries. Nothing special to them. I have translated several legal documents for clients in PR. If I can be of assistant, please contact me directly at [email protected]
