Believe it or not, even if you settle your case, you must have a trial. However, when a case is settled, the trial is little more than a formality. Lawyers call these trials "prove-ups." They last about five minutes, only one of the parties has to be present, and the testimony is perfunctory. Explanation:
Es una instancia ANTERIOR al divorcio en el que los cónyuges se presentan ante el juzgado correspondiente a declarar y contestar preguntas sobre el por qué de la decisión de divorciarse.
