Spanish term or phrase: Director Titular y Director Suplente (of a Corporation)
URGENTISIMO

Alternate or Interim /Acting Director (dep. on context)

Explanation:
If the person is elected at the same time as the Director, I would use "alternate". However, if this person is elected after the Director cannot fulfill his duties--like the Director leaves and they need someone to take over his roles temprarily, then I would use Interim or Acting Director, which is used to indicate that the person who is in the role of Director is only there temporarily.
Hope this helps.

Director and Substitute Director

Explanation:

Director and Alternate Director

Explanation:
