Alternate or Interim /Acting Director (dep. on context) Explanation: If the person is elected at the same time as the Director, I would use "alternate". However, if this person is elected after the Director cannot fulfill his duties--like the Director leaves and they need someone to take over his roles temprarily, then I would use Interim or Acting Director, which is used to indicate that the person who is in the role of Director is only there temporarily. Si el "director" designa quien le reemplazará en su ausencia "acting director" sería mejor. El "acting director" está en funciones, pero la palabra "acting" explica que es una situación temporal. |

Director and Alternate Director Explanation: Salvo alguna discrepancia "regional", el "Director" es el funcionario electo, ya sea por la Asamblea de Accionistas, por el Consejo de Administración o a través de algún otro medio previsto en los estatutos sociales o en el acta constitutiva de la sociedad. El agregar el término titular sólo constituiría una redundancia, pues el hecho se sobreentiende. Por otra parte, el "Alternate Director" es aquel que por lo general se elige durante el mismo acto para suplir la ausencia del Director "electo" y reviste ese carácter para efectos del acta que se levanta de la asamblea en que se les designó o eligió. En sesiones subsecuentes del comité en las que el "Alternate Director" pueda presidir en ausencia del "Director", también se le denomina el "Acting Director", ya que en esos momentos es el "Director en Funciones".
