Spanish to English translations [Non-PRO] Law/Patents
Spanish term or phrase:por mandato de ley
From a Puerto Rican court decision:
El procedimiento... ha sido instado por el Comisionado de Seguros _por mandato de ley_ y por virtud de su ministerio oficial bajo circunstancias justificadas de gran interés público...
Explanation: The other translations may work but "by order of law" is certainly what I've heard all my life.
"The Biodiversity of Baikal's Forests Is Being Destroyed By Order of Law."
"Our policy is to honor requests for confidentiality and not to release any data that would identify such individuals unless required to do so by order of law (e.g., court order, subpoena)."
"People of colour were treated inhumanly, not permitted on the beaches, in pools, in movies or to practice own traditions by order of law."
"The staff at CriderWeb.com have ethics beyond question. We will keep all information supplied by our customers or prospective customers confidential and will not distribute it, except by order of law, to any person or outside organization."
