declared public utility Explanation: This is found on the labels of products (such as mineral water) made by companies which have been taken over by national or municipal entities. The phrase in such a case refers to the spring AND the company operating it. |

Public Interest Explanation: La "declaración de utilidad (o interés) público" es una clasificación legal de una organización, que fundamentalmente implica exenciones fiscales para la organización en sí y generalmente para aquellos que le hacen donaciones. Supongo que "Public Interest" es una opción adecuada, pero NO tengo la certeza. No debe confundirse con "public utilities", que son los servicios públicos (agua, electricidad, etc) Acá unos ejemplos que aclaran el concepto: La Ley de Fundaciones y de incentivos fiscales a la participación privada en actividades de interés general (Ley 30/1.994), ha venido a modificar los criterios que hasta su aprobación se contemplaban para la declaración de Utilidad Pública de una asociación.
