La Asociación Criadora de Angus, se ha embarcado en un proyecto denominado Angus Centro (hace referencia al centro del país-provincias de Santa Fe y Córdoba) que consiste en premiar y promocionar la genética Angus para producir carne en condiciones pastoriles, o sea, propender a una alimentación natural que ha permitido lograr la diferenciación de la carne argentina en el nivel mundial.
La prueba consiste en evaluar las aptitudes reproductivas y de ganancia de peso de un grupo de toros criados en condiciones pastoriles, los que además pasan por una clásica jura de clasificación. El manejo nutricional es totalmente a pasto, utilizando pasturas con base alfalfa en primavera-verano y verdeos en otoño-invierno (fundamentalmente centeno). Si es necesario se los suplementa con rollo de alfalfa o maíz picado fino hasta el 1% de peso vivo.
