Spanish to English translations [Non-PRO] Mechanics / Mech Engineering / cables
Would you be kind enough to verify the spelling? I can't find the word in any of my dictionaries, paper or digital. Also, can you add the context in which it is used; perhaps we can deduct the meaning. Thanks.

Explanation: As I understand it should be "de Chaquetear (verb)". If this is the case it should be Stripping the Cable from its "covering" (jacket). Cables are commonly Stripped from the dielectric covering for installation and especially when copper (or any other cable conductor) is to be recycled.
"Cable Stripping" is the Action. You may add the word "process" or the word "procedure" if it fits your context or you need to be especific.

Asker: Thanks so much for your explanation. It's right on. I am looking for the English-language word for "deschaquetar" and "deschaquetes", the first one meaning to strip the cable from its cover. The second one is the tool to do that. What words would you use for the action and for the tool. Thanks again
