As I understand it should be "de Chaquetear (verb)". If this is the case it should be Stripping the Cable from its "covering" (jacket). Cables are commonly Stripped from the dielectric covering for installation and especially when copper (or any other cable conductor) is to be recycled.

It is very difficult to confirm without context.

Asker: Thanks so much for your explanation. It's right on. I am looking for the English-language word for "deschaquetar" and "deschaquetes", the first one meaning to strip the cable from its cover. The second one is the tool to do that. What words would you use for the action and for the tool. Thanks again
