Explanation:
remitir: ceder o perder parte de su intensidad.

En el primer párrafo debe haber algún error de imprenta porque pone "remiten o se acentúan.." que son valores opuestos.
En el segundo párrafo está correcto: "remiten o se atenúan..", probablemente quisieron poner esto tambien en el primero.
