Law/Patents - Medical: Health Care / birth certificate
Spanish term or phrase: REC. MATERNO POR ESC. PUB. T. F. P.
It's on a birth certificate from Nicaragua. I'm guessing that "Rec." means "Receipt," or "Received," "Materno" means "Maternal" or "By the Mother", "Esc." I'm thinking is short for "School," and then "Pub. T. F. P." I'm guessing means "Published in Volume, Folio, Page." The question is, how should I translate this? Keep the original abbreviations intact? Use new English abbreviations? Spell out the English words? Am I right in my guesses of the meanings? And I'm still not sure what that would mean, all strung together.

Motherhood Attested by Public Notary, TFP
Explanation:
I believe the abbreviation stands for
"Reconocimiento Materno por Escribano Público". I ignore what "TFP" stands for, though it might remain the same...

I am not 100% sure about "Reconocimiento", but that's my guess, since a Public Notary is probably (and again, this is my guess without further context) attesting that she is the mother.

I suggest that you wait for more info about the TFP acronym, and/ or for confirmation of all of this.

:)
