|This is part of an extractor used if there is a need to remove the head + insert that may have been used in a previous hip replacement operation. From the picture of the extractor, it seems to be a solid cylindrical shaft with, at one end, two prongs and, at the other, the solid circular plate (sufridera) which is approx. double the diameter of the shaft. |
I can only come up with "end plate" or similar, as the previous definitions given on here for this word (die assembly, dolly, etc.) don't seem right to me, although I may be wrong on this.
If anyone can provide the correct translation for this part of this surgical instrument, I'd be very grateful. Answer really needed in the next 4 hours or so. Many thanks.

Se introduce la horquilla del extractor por el cuello del vástago, justo debajo de la cara plana del inserto del polietileno.
