Spanish term or phrase: La Ruta del bakalao
Journal Article
barry logan
English translation:see below
Explanation:
Bacalao refers to a kind of pop/disco music which is particularly popular with young people here in Spain (I'm not sure about South America). La ruta del bacalao refers to the trail of discos and the idea of getting in a car and going from one to another. It's very difficult to think of an English equivalent. Hope this is of some help.
Good luck.

Cruising for Bakalao

Explanation:
Titles need to be "catchy," so I'm combining the explanations given above (I'd never have known about this Spanish practice any other!) with the fishing phrase, *trawling for [cod, flounder, haddock, etc.] and the American youth practice of *cruising*, that is, groups of young people driving around together in a car, and stopping for a bit in various youth hangout to meet up with other cars also out cruising.

"Disco Cruising" is one possibility;

Explanation:
"The Disco Crawl" is another (derived from the time-honored English phrases "bar crawl" and "pub crawl," which refer to sequential visits to numerous drinking establishments over the course of an evening).

Either of these titles would be most appropriate if your "journal" is a newspaper or magazine. If the publication is a more scholarly periodical, something less jaunty (such as "The Disco Trail," perhaps) might be more in keeping with its formal tone.

la ruta del bakalao (clubbing to bakalao, a type of dance music)

Explanation:
If you just translate it as "clubbing" or somesuch, you take all the foreignness out.
