Spanish term or phrase: Ginecobtetricia
I am translating a "To Whom It May Concern" letter from Spanish to English. The term in question occurs in the following phrase: "...cursó Prácticas de Ginecobtetricia en el área de Planificación Familiar...." The text is somewhat hard to read, so I may have mispelled the word, but it sure looks like it is spelled the way I wrote it. Can anyone give me a translation of the term "Ginecobtetricia" or give me a correct Spanish term that is spelled almost the same way?

Thanks in advance for your help.

In spanish "Obstetricia-Ginecología". Obstetrics and Gynecology. I would translate it...

Explanation:
Hi, Frank

As written, the word does not exist. It is a combination of two words: gynecology and obstetrics. The letter means to say that the person has taken some course on those two fields.

I hope things are clearer for you

OBGYN

Explanation:
Obstetrics and Gynecology.
I've seen it used a lot recently, the equivalent of an OBGYN here.

Regards and good luck.
