that is, 'distress' in English. This is what I can think of form a Psych. report.

I agree in that the word you have does not exist in Spanish.

En Argentina 'distrés' no es infrecuente en historias clínicas.

This sounds like one of those coined phrases psychiatry is full of.

But I think the sense is that the patient is not happy about their situation.
