From past experiences interpreting the medical profession, I've come to understand that if you just translate what they say into good plain English or Spanish, it usually means the same. So I myself would say "...Juan is a carrier of the C 1a hepatitis virus with a nucleotides sequence that monophyletically groups together with the sequence of the cases..." and let the recipient figure out what his colleague meant.
