Spanish to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical (general) / Blood tests
Spanish term or phrase:S: L:
These abbreviations appear in the results of a blood test:
"Leucocytos: 12 x 10^9/L, (S:72.0%, L:21.2%);"
Could someone tell me what the S and L stand for here please.
Thank you in advance.
(I have changed the numbers given in the original)
Neutrophils are made up of segmented cells and band cells (unsegmented). N is more commonly used in English than S, but then it's not a perfect match. "S" (or Seg.) is also used in English so there's no problem.
