Spanish term or phrase: "infección autolimitada"
Hola a todos. Estoy traduciendo al inglés un texto médico sobre el VPH y no sé cómo traducir "autolimitada" en la siguiente oración:

"Se trata de la infección de transmisión sexual más frecuente, aunque en más del 90% de casos es autolimitada".

Lo que entiendo por "autolimitada" es que en la mayor parte de los casos que presentan la infección del virus del papiloma humano el propio cuerpo se defiende y se cura solo.

He pensado en traducirlo como "self-restrainted", pero no me convence. ¿Alguien tiene alguna idea?
