Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / Anatomy of the hip
Spanish term or phrase: meniscoide
A paper I'm translating from Spanish has certain portions already in English. Some of these pretranslated sections yield no results so I tried, without success, to find the right words.

The author is describing the anatomo-functional system of the hip of young mammals, which, according to the author, includes the ligamentum teres, acetabular ligament and the meniscoid of the hip.

The main problem is "meniscoid of the hip", which yields virtually no Google results. In fact, meniscoid/meniscus/meniscal is apparently not used in reference to hips but rather in knees.

In the Spanish keywords, the author lists "meniscoide", which I assume is what he's translating into the English "meniscoid".

Any ideas as to what the proper term to use instead of "meniscoid of the hip"? Is that the iliac crest since meniscoid is a crescent as is the iliac crest?

Thanks

As I said, you need to post the entire context in Spanish, or ask the author:)
