drilling jumbos Explanation: Hola Rob, Me parece que el término se refiere a estas máquinas. Un ejemplo en contexto con fotografías en el enlace: "...Drilling In the Laerdal tunnel the tunneling was carried out using computer-controlled ***drilling jumbos*** as well as traditional drilling and blasting. Me parece que lo de "cachorreros" tiene su origen en que se les llama "cachorros" a los pequeños taladros que sirven para quebrar grandes trozos de caliche. Mira estas definiciones: "CACHORRO : Taladros pequeños utilizados para quebrantar trozos grandes de caliche y también para hacer las perforaciones de los tiros pequeños que se hacían para trozar bolones grandes de este material. CACHORREAR : Tronar pequeños tiros para trozar bolones grandes de caliche.
