In home construction we use the term "Thermal seal windows".


Explanation:
These are double pane windows with a gas betwen the two panes that keeps exterior temperatures from affecting the interior of the building. It is also considered to be an economical factor for heating and cooling buildings. When the seal is broken it allows the gas to escape and the space between the two glass panes become cloudy and they lose their ability to insulate as well as before.
I have these installed in my home and all the homes I sell as a NC Real Estate Broker.
