Bathycelerity curve. Explanation: This must be a measurement of the rapidity of motion of deep sea waves, possibly used in some wave scatter graph. "Bathy" refers to deep sea. "Celerity" is one of the parameters in the study of waves, for use in offshore platforms and other structures, and ships, and it means the rapidity of motion of these waves. Other factors in the study of waves are the wave "period" its the "frequency", and "steepness". The US offshore oil exploration industry off of Louisiana, and Texas coasts relies on these data to design the drilling and production platforms, in addition to seabed soil data. Regards. Luis Luis |

velocimeter Explanation: Can't find it through Google or Alta Vista Web searches. Looks like a commercial name combining of "batimetría" and "celerimetro". Celerimetro, in Englisn, from Termium: English:Scientific Instruments Hydrology and Hydrography velocimeter s CORRECT sound velocimeter s CORRECT DEF - An instrument used for the in situ measurement of the speed of sound in the sea and other natural waters. s OBS - Field of oceanography. s 1980-11-27 Definition of batimetro, in English: English:Underwater Diving (Sports) Scientific Instruments depth gauge s CORRECT bathometer s depth meter s DEF - An instrument which works by pressure changes, indicating depth. At the surface it registers zero, unless adjusted to include pressure of the atmosphere. s CONT - a depth gauge is part of your defense against the bends if you dive deeper than 30 feet. It lets you know, within various accuracies, how deep you are. s 1994-06-01 Note: *velocimetric* includes the notion of reading through a mass. Here is what Termium has: English:Scientific Instruments Hydrology and Hydrography velocimeter s CORRECT sound velocimeter s CORRECT DEF - An instrument used for the in situ measurement of the speed of sound in the sea and other natural waters. s OBS - Field of oceanography. s 1980-11-27 Cf. also: http://www.google.com/search?q=+velocimetric+land&hl=en&lr=l...
