Las Foces Visitor Center Explanation: "Las Foces" sounds like a proper name in which case it should be translated. My dictionary doesn't list "foz" but the best rendering of "hoz" that I can think of is ravine or defile. I have a lot of personal experience in environmental and conservation topics. |

The Las Foces Environmental Studies Center is a tool to foster the knowledge and interpretation of these ecosystems and its territory, and to increase the appreciation and the adoption of personal attitudes towards the sustainable management of the environment by its local inhabitants and visitors. See below Explanation: I pulled up the same page as Luis Luis did, but I agree with Jo that it does not refer just to the name of the place but to the ravines or gorges or the surroundings.... it is the natural habitat for the vultures.... Perhaps, it is a bit off, but you could translate it as "Environmental Interpretation Center" ? just a thought! Saludos. Maria ;o) |

Las Foces Interpretative Centre Explanation: In Ireland they use this to refer to touristic draws such as: Heritage Interpretative Centre History Interpretative Centre etc. It's a new, tourist-focused way to present sightseeing actibvites (it provoked a lot of scorn from the population in general!). It frequently includes participative typr activities, videos, virtual recreation of events, sensations etc. As per others, Las Foces seems like a place name |
