Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Spanish term or phrase: fermentaciones lentas
it appears in a short story involving the making of cucumbers into pickles. I know what the term means, but I need the standard cookbook jargon if there is anyone out there who translates cookbooks. Context:una barrica de madera curada por lentas fermentaciones anteriores.

...by slow previous fermentations

Explanation:
...by slow previous (or anterior) fermentations

Term most often used in relation to the process of wine-making, brewing, etc but perfectly acceptable in your context.

slowly aged by previous processes of fermentation

Explanation:
the main idea here is that the wood has aged through the fermentation process. The word fermentation should not be pluralized. You could also say, slowly aged by previous fermenting "insert word" and "insert word". Since you know what was fermented ie turned to alcohol. The "lento" describes how it was curado rather than the fermentation. THe Logic of English;:) Hope it helps. Jane
