Spanish term or phrase: hijo de las clases de Historia Sagrada
Sorry, not much context here. The hero is described as being "hijo de las clases de Historia Sagrada y de un Hollywood legendario"

Is this some kind of subtle reference to him being born out of wedlock, or to a nun or priest? Or am I way off?

Cheers,

Berni

English translation:a child of/result
Explanation:
I think it means that he is a child of or a result of or a by-product of or was brought up on a mixture of Bible stories classes (as in Sunday School classes)and legendary/mythical Hollywood.

Thanks a lot. Isn't it funny how context can sometimes blind. A paragraph before, the author had been talking about classes in society. So I never thought of the alternative that classes meant educational hours here :-)

Thanks for steering me straight,

Cheers,

Berni

bible stories

Explanation:
Agreed with first answer. Small nuance, "Historia Sagrada" sounds Catholic whereas "Sunday school" sounds Protestant.
