Spanish term or phrase: empado
"... solicito tener el medicamento en una caja listo para ser verificado y empado para su retorno."

This is in a Colombian text, and I would very much like to know what "empado" means. I am assuming it is not a typing error.

Explanation:
empacar ÞA2 vt
a (empaquetar) to pack; empezó a empacar los libros he started packing the books, he started putting the books into boxes (o crates etc)
b ‹ algodón/heno › to bale
c (AmL) ‹ maleta › to pack

 empacar vi (AmL) to pack, get packed

Most likely a typo for "empacado" (en España me parece que "empaquetado" se emplea con más frecuencia).
