Explanation:
I do not see how the icing in the cake will go well with "almejas" ;o)

I believe that they may be referring that they are domestic clams... it may be that the shine of the shell tells whether they are domestic or imported.

Just a thought.

DOMESTIC CONSUMPTION????


Explanation:
Given your context of a list of: "Incidencia de consumo de almejas en el último año", the only thing that springs to mind, as an item on a list, is "Domestic" or "home" consumption (versus that of restaurants and other commercial establishments). It's a very "wilde" guess but hope it helps.
