need help with this saying...

Spanish term or phrase: need help with this saying...

I need help finding the best way to word this sentence using this saying. Normally I would say "NATO is the armed branch of neoliberal globalization and Silicon Valley is its own.... then I don't know what to put for "Santo Grial". In any case, the two parts of this sentence that I don't know how to make sound the best are "brazo armado" and "Santo Grial". The best thing would be if you guys could help me think up some creative ways to express this using some kind of American saying that communciates the same thing.

The original sentence in question:

"La OTAN es el brazo armado de la globalización neoliberal y Silicon Valley su particular Santo Grial."

Context:

Un asesor de la misma Albright, Tomas Friedman, fue incluso más lejos en su confesión, cuando, en un artículo publicado en marzo de 1999 en el New York Times Magazine (Taibo, 2002:238), sostuvo que "la mano invisible del mercado no funcionará jamás sin un puño invisible.
