"La característica principal de este sadd viene dada por la solución empleada para permitir la salida de aguas. Frente a lo usual en los asdad conocidos, donde la salida de aguas se resuelve mediante una apertura realizada a pico en una de los afloramientos rocosos donde apoya uno de los estribos del dique, en este caso la salida se realiza justo por el centro del dique, respetando posiblemente el eje del torrente sobre el que se instaló el dique. Esta arriesgada solución, que implicaba concentrar toda la presión del agua al salir justo en la zona donde el dique sufre el mayor empuje del agua acumulada, se resolvió mediante la construcción de una torre yuxtapuesta al muro interior del dique, dentro de la cubeta por lo tanto, justo delante de la salida de aguas. Esta torre, **de tendencia troncopiramidal en su alzado**, fue claramente construida una vez finalizada la obra del dique, aunque con seguridad estaba presente en el diseño inicial del dique. Mide 5'00 m de ancho y 4'24 de largo, quedando un espacio interior hueco, sin cubrir, de 1'30 m de ancho x 2'50 de largo. En el centro de la torre, a 1'5 m del nivel actual del suelo, se abrió un vano de 0'60 m de ancho x 0'90 m de alto, donde informaciones orales confirmaron la presencia, incrustada hasta no hace mucho, de una piedra horadada mediante una abertura de un palmo de diámetro aproximadamente."
