PROBLEM SENTENCE:

(Note the the triangular symbol representing change is reproduced by 'change' above, and the infinity symbol by &, given that I can't reproduce the exact symbols here)

OK, the problem is this. As I understand this, the interval is 'el intervalo de paso' of the drug that is being diffused and 'el paso' refers to the changes in x (representing the cortex) and in t (representing time). This can't be translated literally, so would anyone be able to confirm that this interpretation is about right, in which case I could refer to:

"...the interval [0,1] [0,+ &) of absorption 'change'x, 'change't...."

Or has anyone any other ideas?

In mathematical analysis you are concerned with the value of a function for a given set of variables (such as in this case "x" and "t", or position and time), as well as with tje behavior of such function when the variables have INCREMENTS (represented by the Greek delta and the name of the variable). You talk about increments, not just changes, for in that way you indicate the direction of the change.
The step size is composed of the increments of both variables. Y have represented "increment" by the "D". You can use it and then turn it into "symbol" alphabet and you will have youd desltas.
