I'm translating the appendix of a sociological study which contains a page about the Likert scale used to assess subjects' attitudes to certain values. The full sentence is below:

La tendencia a actuar sin experimentar escrúpulos antes o después de una situación crítica, o a evaluar las acciones de esta manera que no prejudique la imagen personal, aparece entre los líderes mareros.
La intencionalidad del alto está claramente definida y se presenta con particular énfasis.

Any help would be great as I'm a bit stuck on this!
