independientemente de cual sea la traducción del término utilizado correctamente, creo que aquí simplemente dar pie a quiere decir introducir. esto lo fundamento en el uso del término "aludir", lo cual me suena a "mencionar" más que "explicar" o "desarrollar" una idea. si es así, en inglés no me complicaría la vida.
