boats for water sports and pleasure trips/sports and pleasure-trip boats

Explanation:
Hi again Horacio!
I wouldn't recommend "ships" as these would be "barcos" (grandes)..unless your text is referring to "Cruise Ships"..but I don't think so.

For the word "embarcación" you have several choices: "craft", "vessel", "boat"...but I think "boat would fit best here.

Another possibility might be "sports and pleasure-trip boats"..if it best fits your context.

This is what I suggest, from personal experience. I've done a lot of similar translation work for the Mexican government and these are the terms commonly used.

Hope this helps:-)

“sporting and pleasure craft,” or “sporting boats and pleasure craft”

Explanation:
There is no single, rigidly defined expression for this sort of thing. They are called ships, vessels, craft, and boats (among other thins). Moreover, the expression most commonly used in the context of pleasure is different from the one most commonly used in the context of sports. Here is a taste of this delicious variety:

1. Sporting boats: In the context of sports, the most common word used is “boats.” Here are a couple of sample texts:

integrated designer, manufacturer, and retailer of premium aluminum fishing and sporting boats.

drift boats, duckboats, and small sporting boats

2. Pleasure craft: In the context of pleasure, the most common expression is “craft.” Here are a few sample texts:

Sailing your pleasure craft to and from the United Kingdom

http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/SSG/rb00350e.html

A number of U.S. pleasure craft firms are represented in the UAE, ... but U.S. firms can still find capable businessmen interested in generating sales for products new to this market.

Merchant shipping act, 1992: An act to make further provision in relation to the safety of passenger ships, passenger boats, fishing vessels and pleasure craft, to amend the merchant shipping acts, 1894 to 1983, and to provide for related matters.

This last sample is interesting, because it shows how different terms are used for different purposes. In the context of pleasure, “craft” was favored over “boats” and “vessels.”

3. Sporting and pleasure craft: Here is a sample showing the two together under one term, “craft”:

As I said above, the terminology in this context is not so rigid, so you have a lot of choices.
