Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering
Spanish term or phrase: contrademe
La primera etapa de la construcción del pozo consistió en colocar un contrademe, iniciando actividades el día 31 de febrero.

Thanks for the help on the last term. Once again, I exhausted all my resources looking for this word. I get the feeling that it is a term specific to Mexico. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Explanation:
I already got hold of Dad. The word you're looking for is ADEME. This thing prevents the soil from falling upon the site you're digging, such as a tunnel or a well, so a contra-ademe is the piece that prevents the ademes from collapsing (obviously along with the tunnel!!)
Good luck and I'll look for the exact translation of the word asap

The poor thing!
I've been looking all over and you're right, this must be a very local term. All I found is a web page about a bidding where this thing is referred to twice. My Mexican civil-engineer's dad's phones are not working, but as soon as I can get a hold of him I'll ask. In the meantime, go to this page, maybe that can give you an idea.
Lots of luck, it sure looks hard!

Para complementar a Super dad

Explanation:
Ademe = pit prop or strout. Creo que podrias decir "Counter strout" or "Counter pit prop" como la traducción de Contra-ademe. Espero sea de ayuda.
