Spanish term or phrase: del mismo
El esfuerzo que su empresa haga para publicar una pagina web debe estar bien focalizado. No es conveniente que decida armar un sitio si sabe que luego no se podra ocupar del mismo.

Explanation:
Here, "el mismo" refers to the web site.

More generally, it's always a good idea to beware of false cognates and literal constructions, which can result in a clumsy English translation. (Example: in proper English, efforts are made, not done.) Concentrate instead on meaning and on smoothness in the target language, e.g.:

"The effort your company makes to publish a web page must be well focused. You should not create a site if you know you will not be able to maintain it properly afterward."

Alternatively, this sentence could end with the clause "...if you know you will not be able to pay proper attention to it after it has been built." The idea is the same, but the phrasing here is somewhat less formal.

Hope this helps, HC

HC,

That helped a lot. Thank you for clarifying. I felt that the author inserted "del mismo" and the sentence was not really grammatically correct. There have been several instances in this translation where my Proz friends have told me that the sentences are constructed strangely. I am not a native of Spanish and am a beginning translator. guess I'll be back to Proz for more!
Thanks again!

It is not convenient to decide to build a site if you know that afterwards you could not take care of it.
Hope it helps.

Explanation:
I am sorry for the typo: I meant: "Efforts by your company for publishing a website should be well focused. It is not advisable to build a website if you already KNOW you will not have time to maintain it."
