Explanation:
Like the other answerer, the word on its' own means reducer, but in my technical dictionary it gives the following as well:
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING: negative booster
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING: Divider

Explanation:
Hi Keith,

A bit difficult to translate this term without further context. I can't work out if you mean the verb or the noun.
Some conveyor belts are multiple and end up in one. If this is the case I would say 'reducing' but if it is a noun it normally is masculine and then it is some kind of 'reducer' (i.e. reductor de carrera = stroke reducer, reductor de tres fases = three-stage reducer, etc.)
