Spanish term or phrase: PERMITE ENTRAR DENTRO DE LÍMITES EN CUANTO A...

I have translated this as:

...magnetic separation, whilst keeping within the limits as far as iron contect is concerned, exercises no influence....

Can anyone confirm if this is a correct rendereing of the sense?

English translation:brings iron content down within limits, whilst exercising no influence
Explanation:
Fewer words is better. And the source does not say KEEP, it says BRING DOWN.

Altho I don't understand your comment: permite (de sobra en inglés)entrar dentro de limites = enter/be within limits, which to my mind is 'keep/maintain (itself) within limits' rather than 'bring down' which implies a deliberate action on the part of someone. Perhaps the geological nuance escapes me here?
