otherness Explanation: As I explained in a previous post, *alteridad* is a philosophical/sociological concept, best rendered as *otherness* in English. This remains the case... I have been through about 30 combinations of computer terms in Spanish (i.e., formato, datos, programa, software, etc., etc.) plus alteridad, and can come up with almost nothing relating to computers (and I found over 5,000 instances of alteridad by itself--relating to philosophy, sociology, anthropology, feminism... Frankly, I think it's rather nice that there is still a word out there that hasn't been adapted to computerese!!! Google searches (+/- 30) Alta Vista search |
