The covers are canyon vaults, of edge, crucería, baídas or reduced. They are often recovered with casetones. The domes are with pechinas, on drum, in which are practiced windows, and they are finished off by a lantern. They are examples excellent Santa María dei Fiore –el Duomo of Florencia–and the chapel Pazzi, both of Brunelleschi.

The transept raises, springing from its cornice, a big dome whose noticeable damages are due to the earthquake located at Lisboa in 1753. The dome is supported by "pechinas" with angels performed in vivid polychromy. They appear spreading their wings and displaying the founder´s heraldic shield.
