Hi Ailish,
Just wanted to ask you to post your term requests are separate entries for each term in the future - I just spent over 1/2 an hour researching all your terms!

One of the reasons for posting term requests is so other translators can come along later and search the data base for answers to their own term questions. However, the only way to locate a term is through the request "header" info (the "term" part of the request form). If other terms are buried in the "explanation" part of the request, the info will not be available to the searcher.

Another reason for posting multiple requests, one for each term, of course, is that it is in your immediate self-interest. A potential answerer might be discouraged from answering, just because it is a multiple post. That is, s/he might know the answer to one of your terms, but not to the others.

Also, while answerers sign up to help out on KudoZ mainly because they are interested in being helpful, they are also interested in getting those KudoZ points. So if they need to spend time researching a query before answering it, they are more likely to spend their time looking up answers where they are more likely to get more KudoZ points for their efforts.

Happy translating,

Thanks Yolanda, and to everyone else too. The reasons why I submit more than one are many - sadly the world is not ideal! I'm busy to the point of crisis (they 'omitted' to send me the biggest 2/3rds of the job until I noticed it was missing), slow Internet connection (that sometimes drives me bananas), the fact that there is little or no context, the fact that sometimes I just want ideas, etc etc etc. Not to mention the deluge of mail that results from each Q. I'm sorry but sometimes I feel I have no other choice - but I do try! There you go - my connection is gone AGAIN!

reset light, reset button

Explanation:
Sounds like a bad translation of 'reset' (based on set a trap/armar una trampa?)
'disparo disyuntor' could be a similarly lousy translation of 'trip switch'

'OV' Sorry, I don't know.

resetting lamp (or tube) since your are dealing with electricity

Explanation:
pulsador de rearme = resetting switch

disparo disyuntor = circuit breaker tripping.

OV = no idea, could have something to do with the kind of voltage?

Happy translating! ;o) Maria

Reset Warning

Explanation:
"Reset Warning" (Light) optional for me
"Reset Button"
"Circuit Breaker"

could the last one be "Output Voltage"? maybe it was originally in English and left that way by another translator who never figured out what the initials stood for ;-)

Wouldn't it be great if clients always gave translators a glossary of abbreviations used... "cloud cucko land", I know :-)

Note that "Resetting Light" - with "-ing" does not sound natural to an English ear. But "Warning Lamp" does ... curious language, ¿eh?

"reset light, reset buttom"

Explanation:
REARMADO / REARME = RESET
"Rearmado is the process to re-energise an electrical system after trip"

"DISPARO disyuntor" = switch trip

"0V de referencia" most probably means
Reference Voltage = 0 volts

Good luck, hope you find my hints helpful!
