controller Explanation: This is the best (generic) I can give you. The term is found in Spanish in Beigbeder's Polytechnic Dictionary as "rudder bar" (aviation). In French, however, it is both a rudder bar (aviation) and a "compensator" (automotive industry). Basically, it's a kind of joystick.
