workhorse Explanation: Hola Enrique, Me salió hace un tiempo, pero al traducir (en realidad, editar) desde el inglés al español. Puse la pregunta en Proz y, adecuadamente, la respuesta fue "caballo de batalla". Te copio abajo la pregunta, en la que puedes ver el´término en contexto. Suerte! "Quisiera algunas sugerencias para este término en: "It also provides films free of surface defects. It is the workhorse of matt latex paint defoeamers". Estoy editando una traducción en la cual está como "... Es la bestia de carga de los despumantes de pintura de látex mate". ... pero no me gusta demasiado por lo literal. Alguien me sugirió, "es la estrella de alto rendimiento", pero tampoco estoy muy convencido. Alguna idea? Gracias!" |

Comentario a lo anterior Explanation: "Flagship" no está mal tampoco, pero desde mi punto de vista corresponde más bien a "producto emblemático". Por "caballo de batalla" entiendo que, además de emblemático, es el más usado, el que más rinde, el que más ha sido sometido a la prueba del mercado, etc. ´Suerte! |

the "pièce de résistance" product of the firm Explanation: Hi Elacombe, a bit baroque but it sounds nice to me, mostly if you are translating some kind of pamphlet which is speaking highly of that firm.
