I guess it is a kind of "tuner" but I believe it's more correctly known as an "AV Receiver". By the way, the "AV" means "Audio-Video".

It's a receiver that you can use to interconnect your TV, VCR, Satellite or Cable reception, DVD, and speakers. They're fantastic.

I strongly disagree. The right translation is "tuner", according to the source word. Receiver means a complete set with a tuner included. I am an electronics engineer and my specialty is broadcasting systems and audio & video. That is the reason of my opinion.
