"figurín" is probably "fashion figure" or "sketch", but how the pattern making and the fashion figure go together in the sentence is a mystery to me

I think that "Patronaje" in this case can be traslated as "patronage" like sponsorship. good luck !!

Se esta perdiendo el uso de la palabra figurin. Ahora los jovenes todo lo encuentran en internet. Antes se esperaban las revistas para saber lo que estaba de moda. Luego se llevaba a la modista o al sastre, según el tipo de prenda.
