Distelhain Explanation: cardo = Distel (Langenscheidt), aber auch Kardengewächse (dipsacaceae) werden umgangssprachlich als Disteln bezeichnet. Kommt drauf an, wie wissenschaftl. exakt der Text ist. |

Kakteenhain Explanation: cardón=(Riesen-)Kaktus, v.a. auch in Südamerika. Je nach Höhe, Dichte und Ausdehnung des Bewuchses könnte man auch "Kakteengarten", "Kakteenwald" bzw. "Kakteenbestand" sagen. Reference: http://images.google.com/images?q=cardonales |

Säuleneuphorbienbestand oder Säuleneuphorbienhain Explanation: Ich würde "Säuleneuphorbie" nehmen und nicht "Kaktus", weil bei "Kaktus" die meisten Leute an relativ kleine, kugelige Pflanzen denken und nicht an meterhohe Kandelaber. Der Begriff "Hain" gefällt mir in Zusammenhang mit Kakteen nicht so sehr, weil da etwas Liebliches mitschwingt, und Cardonales alles andere als lieblich sind. |
