When making your seam the final step is to 'lock' the joint. Seems this is done with a hammer (which you see on the Swe reference under hakfals). 'Lock' is possible but these "How to" references look much the same.

BTW I found 'hakfals' as synonym to 'tvärfals' ( http://www.teokonsult.se/plat/plfackor.htm )
