Glossary entry (derived from question below)
Swedish term or phrase:
på glid ut i prostitutionens träskmarker
English translation:
descending into the quagmire of prostitution
Swedish term
träskmarker
"René vill bli advokat men har fuskat med sitt examensbevis och upptäckts. Han är nu på glid ut i prostitutionens träskmarker."
I don't know what exactly is meant. It refers to the story in ”Älskade okände” (1994, Elskede ukendte), a novel by the Danish writer Kirsten Thorup.
I assume the general context is that he is visiting (or starting to visit or thinking about visiting?) prostitutes, not that he is prostituting himself - but that is just an assumption and frankly I don't know.

Ps. I agree it is hard to tell whether he is visiting or becoming a prostitute. Either case, it is hard to imagine anybody would "slip" that quickly after only cheating on an exam :)
