Previous translator used closed down, I found abolished. Does anyone have a good answer with a link backing it up?

Word used instead The customer didn't like abolished or dismantled (found the words too "bureaucratic") so they went with closed down. :((

A search gives three hits. Take the third, ending Wëter 2010-04-26, giving an explanation of the subject. If it's simply a translation you want you could suitably accept Tania's suggestion.

The Swedish Board of Fisheries is to be abolished

As a new authority is taking over the responsibilities of the old Board of Fisheries, I would use "abolish" in this case.
