three crowns Explanation: Since it's a restaurant it may be a play on words. Kronor has (at least) two meaning, one being the Swedish currency, the other meaing the head dress of kings and queens. Three crowns have long been an official symbol for Sweden. I think it's a few hundred years old, from the times when Sweden and it neighbours kept concering each other. At one point Sweden ruled over 3 countries and the symbol was established. The background is blue and the crwosn are yellow (Swedish colours). One crown is above the others, like a hirarcical structure (possibly to show the one country ruling the other two). Canadian Swede |

Tre Kronor Explanation: Naturally "Tre Kronor" means "Three Crowns" etc., but translation of restaurant's name is usually made by transliteration. Therefore it will be the same "Tre Kronor". Example in USA: Tre Kronor 3258 W. Foster Ave. Chicago Tel: (773) 267-9888 Albany Park Scandinavian restaurant is considered by most the city's best, with delicious danish rolls and a Swedish-accented menu. It's open every day for breakfast and lunch, but dinner is only on Friday and Saturday. http://centerstage.net/restaurants/tre-kronor.html Hope it can help you. Best Regards, Serge |
